The exigence that created the rhetorical situation of this meme is the fact that Chik-fil-a is closed on Sundays. The mode of this meme is visual and text-based. This mode is very compatible with the digital media format because the visual part of the meme is attention catching and the text part of the meme is short. The audience is any person that uses the internet regularly and goes to Chik-fil-a. Therefore, it was probably made for younger people from teen to late twenties. The composer uses this easy to interpret style because it gets the idea of the meme across very quickly, which is that it is annoying when you want to go to Chik-fil-a when it is closed. As stated earlier, I think that the design of this meme is perfect because it gets the message across in seconds which is what people browsing the internet want. The rhetorical appeal that this meme uses is pathos because it expresses frustration that others can relate to and be entertained by. Therefore, the purpose of this meme is to entertain by being relateable, and it is effective because of its easy to interpret mode and media.
